Our food is prepared by women for women.  Therefore the meals are nutritious, wholesome and creative.   Most diets we can cater for, thanks to Sara, Christine, Jahna, Hua, Deborah and Bev.

Breakfast will be delivered to your door in the morning (7.30 - 7.45 am). You will be asked to select what you want the night before.

Lunch is usually at 12.30 pm. We like to eat outside as much as possible, so the table may be set in the back garden or the front balconies overlooking the Tasman Sea.

At 6.30 or so, we gather in the lounge, for drinks and a chance to talk. Dinner is then served when we are all ready.

Morning and afternoon tea and supper are for you to make in your room whenever convenient. Fresh milk and other supplies are available from the house.

What tired women seem to appreciate the most is not having to do anything to make the meals happen or for the used plates and cutlery to go away!

Thanks to Selma Nicholson, who for seven years while raising her son Gavin, set the ever-increasing standard for meals at Te Wahi Ora.

"A retreat is a Sabbath.

It is a time to catch your breath rather than rush

It is a time to be still rather than productive

It is a time to notice yourself and your life patterns and turn again toward life in all its fullness

It is a time for listening to one's deepest voice."
