Free Monthly CHECK UP Weekends 2026

Posted in Te Wahi Ora Events

Come to a CHECK UP Weekend on the last weekend of each MONTH.
Choose the day that best suits you
– Saturday or Sunday.

For our free monthly CHECK UP Weekends we will have a similar format to the last two years, except the metaphor has changed!  The metaphor in 2026 is AIR.

2024 ‘TREES’ were the metaphor we used to shape our awareness of interconnectedness with everything.

2025 It was the ‘OCEAN’ that guided us into being totally held, immersed and supported in that which is the Giver of all Life .

2026 Is the year where the metaphor leading us further into our understanding and experiences, of and with, That which is Greater Than Us, is AIR.

We human species have often been hindered by superstition, gender bias and control of opportunities and wealth. Women have an amazing history of gaining freedom and ‘rights’ in these vital areas of natural human development, physically, socially and educationally.

Human Beings fourth area of natural development, Spirituality, even more so!.

Why does Te Wahi Ora Women’s Retreat offer free monthly CHECK UP Weekends?

These free, monthly Check Ups are one of Te Wahi Ora’s offerings, where we women together, can over-come our fears, mistrust or just our lack of opportunity, that keeps us deprived of our natural human right to develop fully our Purpose, Meaning and Value and to connect to the Source of Love and Life and together notice how, as a result, our lives are enriched and resourced.

Why use the image of AIR?

The courage of indigenous peoples of the world, and especially of NZ Maori women, have encouraged women globally to notice our own ancient indigeneity.  For this we are grateful and are in their debt.

Consequently, we have enjoyed and been enriched using the image of the Tree and the Ocean in our desire to know and experience the Divine. AIR as our 2026 metaphor, seemed the ultimate!

Can we see AIR? Well not usually. But we NOTICE its presence, its power, its effectiveness, its every-where-ness.

Can we do without AIR? We are free to try.

Perhaps in western culture, we even believe we can do without developing Spiritually.

Apparently, we are the least ‘spiritual’ of any previous generation, so the research tells us, yet notice how often we use the term, “Oh God” when something goes wrong or even when we are enjoying ourselves! “God, that was fun.” It’s fascinating to notice!

Perhaps such ‘gasps’ are similar to when we ‘gasp’ for air when pushing ourselves physically, or grappling with some difficulty mentally and particularly socially, for instance, when we get nervous when called upon to speak publicly.

We are enjoying experiencing the process of exploring, being inspired by shared experiences and finding our own way into the wonders of Spirituality.

We need to hear and be inspired by each other’s stories

Attend Saturday or Sunday  of a CHECK UP Weekend. Totally your choice!
There is no cost for CHECK UPS!*

*We will still have accommodation available on these weekends at our usual rates and subsidies.

We are not teaching spirituality or beliefs.
You are exploring what your experience inspires you to believe.

We would like to offer assistance and a ‘place’ for finding and languaging your own developing beliefs around these vital aspect of  who we are and why are we here?

Leave with a different view of your issue and available resources
